SIPHE NOVEMBER

BALLET DANCER | MOVEMENT MODEL | CHOREOGRAPHER | TESTIMONIAL

From dancing barefoot in the streets of Zolani, a small town in South Africa, to the most revered stages in the world, Siphe November's journey is the kind films are made of — and indeed, his was: the acclaimed documentary Beyond Moving. After five seasons as a Principal Dancer with The National Ballet of Canada, he now opens a bold new chapter with the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, one of Europe's most prestigious companies.

Courage, discipline and quiet elegance define him — on stage and off. Siphe is far more than a ballet dancer: a movement model, choreographer, street dancer and performer, who also plays the piano and composes his own music. What sets him apart is not only his technique, but the warmth, charisma and effortless grace he brings to everything he touches.

His artistry speaks in two languages. In classical ballet, his soaring jumps and immaculate lines have brought audiences to their feet. In street styles, his footwork stays fresh, inventive and precise. He first found dance through kwaito, the South African rhythm, blending its steps with ballet and hip-hop in the streets of his hometown. There, his gift caught the eye of a Canadian family visiting the area and they made a local ballet teacher to meet him and invite him to class. A year later, the Canadian family arranged an audition for Canada's National Ballet School and sponsored his move to Toronto. He was accepted at just eleven years old.

Named a Principal Dancer at just twenty-two — one of the youngest in the company's history — he made his debut in the world premiere of Angels' Atlas by Crystal Pite, who said of him: "You don't want his dancing to be ephemeral, you just want to have it, hold it, share it with everyone forever."

In 2022 he choreographed his first work for The National Ballet of Canada's main stage — a resounding success that drew standing ovations at Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. That same year, he received the BBPA Harry Jerome Award for Excellence in the Arts.

Elegant, magnetic and quietly powerful, Siphe November is an artist whose presence elevates any brand fortunate enough to work with him.
